What we test, and how much it counts

Your score is weighted the way mailbox providers weigh things: a failed signature or a blocklisting costs far more than a missing detail.

How it works

Test the email exactly as your customers receive it, not a simulation.

  1. Copy your test address

Every visitor gets a unique address, so your result is yours alone and can be shared with a private link.

    Valid for 15 minutes
  2. Send your usual email

Send it from the app, account or server you really use: your newsletter tool, your shop, your CRM or Outlook.

A real email, not a blank test
  3. Get your score and the fixes

A percentage out of 100, every check explained, and a short list of what to fix first. Download the PDF for your team.

    Usually under a minute

If your email is set up well, you'll see 100% and a clear "you can send".No invented problems. Every lost point comes with the reason and the fix.

What your percentage means

Clearer than a mark out of 10: every point in the score maps to a specific check you can fix.

  • 100%Perfect

Everything providers check is in place. You can send.

  • 90–99%Excellent

Small refinements left, usually a stricter DMARC policy.

  • 75–89%Good

You'll mostly reach the inbox, but some mail may be filtered.

  • 50–74%Needs attention

Real problems that send part of your mail to spam.

  • 0–49%Poor

Your emails are likely to be filtered or rejected.

Your percentage is points earned ÷ points available × 100 across the five weighted categories. A SpamAssassin score of 0 or less earns the full 25 points; each SpamAssassin point above zero costs 5. A major blocklist costs 10 points, a minor one 3.

Take the full report to your team

Frequently Asked Questions

Anything else? Ask our deliverability team.

Is the email test free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no card. You get your score, every check and the PDF report for free.

What email should I send to the test address?

Send the email you actually want to deliver, from the same app, account or server you normally use: a newsletter, an invoice, a password reset or a normal Outlook message. A blank "test" email gives a misleading result, because filters look at your real content and links.

Why is my score a percentage instead of a mark out of 10?

A percentage shows smaller differences clearly, and each point maps to a specific check. Authentication counts for 30%, SpamAssassin 25%, blocklists 20%, content 15% and sending setup 10%, so you can see exactly where the missing points are.

Does 100% guarantee my emails land in the inbox?

No test can guarantee that. A test shows how one email looked on the day it was sent. Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo also look at your sending reputation, how recipients engage with your mail and your complaint rate. A high score means your technical setup is right, which is the foundation for everything else.

What happens to the email I send?

It is analysed automatically and then deleted from our test mailbox. The result is kept for 30 days so you can share it with a private link, and is then deleted.

Why does my score say I'm not using one-click unsubscribe?

Since 2024, Gmail and Yahoo require bulk and marketing senders to include a List-Unsubscribe header with one-click support (RFC 8058). Personal and transactional emails, such as invoices or password resets, don't need it, so you can ignore that point for those.

My score is low. What should I do first?

Start with the "Fix these first" list on your result. It is ordered by how many points each fix adds. If you'd rather have an expert do it with you, request hands-on help.

Test your next email before your customers see it.

One email, one minute, one clear score out of 100%.
